Alright here's the next 3rd party Spirit Board I've made, this time it's Sega's Valkyria Chronicles! (aka Fire Emblem WW2)


This time I'll spoiler it since some of the images are rather large.

Welkin

Spirit Battle Conditions:
1. The Enemy has Super Armor but moves slower
2. Reinforcements will appear during the battle (3 foxes)
3. Enemy favors Special attacks

Who cares what is the best Nintendo game of the 10s?

What matters in the end is that we do indeed have a wonderful and great time with the Nintendo games of the 10s, all while letting each one of us enjoy the games they like.

I love this, the Valkiria chronicles games were some of the best games I've tried out this year.

I would have suggested using claude as a spirit instead of Crymaria but I guess it would be too similar to Welkin.

Yeah I couldn't come up with anything interesting with Claude and I thought it would be better to focus on the Valkyria themselves since they're pretty unique. I thought about having a Riley spirit battle with the random falling bomb-ombs condition to simulate the grenadier class.

Emet-Selch runs into the same problem Ryne has to an even greater extent.
You can't do anything meaningful with him without spoiling major revelations from XIV (and Shadowbringers in particular).

If it weren't for that, I'd love to see him get in.
Plus, we'd get Who Brings Shadow, along with potentially one other great FFXIV song! >_>

Though we all know they'd go with the yandere princeling anyway. :-/

Uprising was really good. Put countless hours replaying its missions...

But I put more hours into playing--and replaying--Fire Emblem Awakening. As a result, I say Awakening is probably my favorite game of the decade. The amount of tools at your disposal allows for you to play the game however you want, and the different difficulties require you to create different strategies altogether instead of just playing more defensively. My last run was a no-reset, no-pairup, limited supports of the normal mode, and it actually engaged me to a fair degree. It just shows me what I can still do new things with the game even if it's over 5 years old now.

Shame I can't like its story anymore. The more I compare it to other Fire Emblem games, the more flaws I see in it. It's not bad, but it doesn't really take the idea of war as seriously as other games given there is a total of three of them in the span of like 3 or 4 years. That, and one of them isn't even important to the overall plot of preventing a bad future.

I definitely love Awakening as well. It's a great game. I think the story is fine and enjoyable in general, specially the beginning and the end. I kind of agree with you that the story isn't specially great, but I don't think it's bad by any means, or at least not worst than some previous FE installments, excluding of course the Tellius games.

I'm really loving these spirit boards for series that are probably not getting in. I'd love to see more series' added like that, provided they don't hurt like Resi.

You are totally right on everything you said, but the question wasn't if he was doable. Of course, our "best friend" would be the bad guy.

If it wasn't for a baddie, I would like to have a class changer derplander with multiracial alts.

For me the best Nintendo game of the 10s is probably Rhythm Heaven Fever (2011).
Not sure though...

I also loved Kirby Triple Deluxe, I replayed countless times the levels (often quitting before Hypernova), occasionally with self imposed challenges such as no damage or stick with an ability or even use only one move. The level design of that game is great, and artistically it's a masterpiece; Hypernova gets old very fast but occasionally replaying those sections feels good, all those bosses such as the ghost, the four dragons, and the waddle dee tower. Not to mention Kirby Fighters, it was my favorite time killer before Smash 3DS came out, and occasionally I still do some matches (though it's really unbalanced and the CPU is unfair). My only issue is that in Royal Road the game starts to become boring... level design becomes less inspired, and all the random teleports and old content rehashed really ruin the experience to me... else it would have been my favorite Nintendo game of the 10s (but all the modern Kirby games have this issue).

This reminds me of how much fun Darth Vader was in SCIV, his moves looked so cool in that game.

I understand it would be rather hard to design a fighting game around Lightsabers and keep their authentic lethality, but I wish there was a competent Star Wars fighting game, Jedi Outcast is the closest we've gotten to it.

Again, if we don't get any news of an incoming Direct by the end of Tuesday, our next best bet is the Game Awards. I don't think we'll be getting any sort of Direct on Friday or Saturday, since also I don't think Directs usually happen on those days... though I certainly wouldn't mind if that actually ended up happening for once.
