Newbie question about tornaments.

Hey guys. Avid smasher, but I'm just now joining the tourney team. Would somebody with some experience mind answering a few questions?

1. How does stage selection usually work with counter picks? Are they allowed, or not? or can they only be played after the first match?

Ok, so it was only one question. But thanks in advance to those who will answer.

You and your opponent agree on the first stage (via stage striking, random neutral, or just agree on one). The second the first match ends, this is the order of things (normally):
1. Loser picks stage.
2. Winner picks character.
3. Loser picks character.
4. Match start.
5. Repeat.

There will be a list of legal stages, neutral and counterpick. Some tournaments will not allow you to play the same stage twice.
