Hi, newbie here. I started playing Project M recently to get myself hyped for the new Smash game and im really surprised at how well done this game is. I played Brawl a ****load but not on a competitive level, and i see a lot of terms like Smashes, Recoveries, Cancels, Tilts etc. being thrown around a lot but i dont really know what they mean. Also, how can i access Turbo mode? i cant find any option in-game for it and it seems really fun. About Online MP: I play on the PC, how hard is it to set up an online match? whenever i choose "Play Online" it tells me NWFC has been discontinued, but i saw videos of people playing together online.

There's a guide for smash bros terminology on smashpedia if you google 'Smash Bros terminology', and click the first result, which can hopefully clear up your confusion. If you want to learn more about the technical aspects and skills, look up the SSBM Advanced How to Play guide on youtube, all of those techniques apply on project m. (I'd be happy to link them directly if I weren't under 10 posts).

Turbo mode is a special mode and is accessed the same way as say, Giant, Tiny, or Fast mode. I can't remember it's exact place in the menu at the top of my head.

Is Melee faster than Project M, or are they the same?
If Project M is slower, is it slighly or moderately?

I'd say Melee is only slightly faster than Project M.

Although Project M intends to provide an experience close to Melee's, they are different games, and Project M is a much newer game. With that said, people simply haven't had near as much time with Project M as they have had with Melee, so that will affect gameplay speed. I also believe many characters have superior recoveries in Project M, so characters will die less frequently, slowing down the game more.

Rule 1 of PM, never compare to Melee. That's like trying to compare all the different versions of SF4. No matter what it looks like, it's not the same in any way, shape, or form.

In regards to the wifi there's a thread (here) that talks about it. Basically for P:M you do the same stuff as P:M. A different loading screen will appear (gecko) when going to stage builder but it's the same except that you can get on wifi.

After doing that you can find matches for it at the arena (here). There's another place but I don't remember where it is, you can ask around the arena.
