New to modding and getting an error when installing 3.0

Have been trying to install 3.0 for project melee using homebrew. it opens gecko then when i hit launch game it says error: no dvd found.
As far as i know i have homebrew and a few other mods on the Wii that my brother put on there, is there maybe something conflicting?
