New to melee

Just attempted to get melee, I'm a bit new to this, Any advice?

pick a character and play a few games against cpus to get the feel of the games movement.

EDIT: Sorry, I have the regular game cube controller and no adapter ;-;

Yeah you can either get the Wii U Adapter $40 or the Mayflash Adapter $25

I don't have those and I only have the Wii and a PC, Plus I can't afford

Don't buy that one, you want the 4 port Nintendo or Mayflash Wii U adapters. Dolphin has native support for them so there's no lag like those ones.

There will always be lag when using Dolphin on PC to play gamecube games... Plus when I plugged it in it worked right away on Dolphin

With the Wii U adapter using Dolphin's native support on fullscreen mode, the only lag is from your monitor (+ buffer if you're online). That adapter isn't compatible with Dolphin's native support so there is additional lag from it. This adapter is cheaper than the one you linked and it works with Dolphin's native support for free lag reduction.

Emulators can be quite laggy if your PC isn't cuttin it.
