Hey everyone, I'm brand new to Melee, but I'd really like to get into playing it competitively. I was bored one night and was looking for some twitch streams to watch when I found a melee tournament and it looked like a ton of fun. A few days later I bought a used gamecube and a copy of melee along with some controllers and adapters. Not many games have made me immediately go all in and buy whatever I needed to play them, but Melee totally seemed worth it.
About Me: I live in Western PA near Pittsburgh. I played halo PC competitively on and off for about 11 years, and my skill in that game is comparable to some of the very best players, so I'm no stranger to high level play in video games. My name is also derived from my Halo PC days. My name started off as "Snipes" (due to my affinity for sniper rifles) and somewhere along the line my friends morphed the name into "Snawpes" jokingly and I've stuck with it ever since. Sadly, Halo PC servers will be shutting down soon, so I won't be able to return to my favorite game unless someone steps up to save it somehow.
I'm down for some netplay if anyone else wants to play with me sometime. Send me a message or something. I'm a Marth player and I'm trying to use Falcon as my secondary.
