New to Melee Community

couldn't find a welcome thread on here, but if there is one, please move it there. Anyway, I play PM and Smash 4 primarily, but as I've gotten tired of those games, and more and more intrigued by Melee. I finally picked it up, and realized that I totally suck. But I've been practicing, I have wave dashing almost down. (i'll miss like 1 or 2) I'm still learning to L-Cancel instinctively, and My mains are Marth and Sheik. Any tips, for a beginner?
