so I have never hacked anything before 2 days ago when I decided to do this.

Okay, so I've got the homebrew channel, gecko os, and some other apps as well.

I've looked through endless tutorials like
http://www.gekinzuku.com/forums/index.php?topic=1333.0
http://allisbrawl.com/blogpost.aspx?id=133245
and http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=7304207#post7304207

and have followed the steps and still have had no luck getting the texture files to work. I'm using this referree mario skin as a test run. even renaming the file to the FitMario00.pcs without luck

My files look like this.
private>wii>app>RSBE>pf>fighter>mario>FitMario00.pcs

I'm just having difficulty because I have no one to speak to about this and most threads are years old and I feel are probably outdated. I would really love the help of anyone who could throw me a bone and entertain a noob like me!

I would recommend formatting your SD card and trying with a different texture.
What do you mean by formatting. The card is already in the FAT format. Is it not supposed to be? And I'll give it a shot with another character skin again.

Also, how many of the files are case sensitive? My friends and I are confused because some people say they are others say they aren't I just tried to do it based on what they've said, but I've seen others saying it was a different way.
