New to competitive scene for Melee.

I've been a Captain Falcon guy since way 64, but recently was informed about the ongoing scene that lives for Melee. I don't know many of the advanced techniques, besides wavedashing (not great at it).

I know some tournaments are held near me in St. Louis, and I plan on checking one out to hopefully meet some people I can play with to better my skills. In the meantime, could someone link me to some Captain Falcon matches on YouTube? I'll practice some of the things against AI (If that's possible?)

AIs are really only good with improving technical skill. I haven't used Captain Falcon much, but he is used in some popular tournaments, I think I saw him in EVO last year.

Also, falcon kick + up+b is awsommmmm

Welcome to the community! There's definitely going to be a serious learning curve in getting into this game. Understand that you will not be able to do many of the things you want to in the way you want to do them for a while. That said, I hope you have a great time at your first tournament! A little advice, try to meet and play as many people as possible. Exchange info. Set up training sessions later. If possible, record some matches and go back and watch them to see where your game is lacking.
