New to advanced techniques

I grew up playing Melee, but never did anything more advanced then teching. I've rekindled my interest and love for smash, and I'm dying to learn and implement advanced techniques that I've watched dozens of tutorial videos, and countless pros playing. I feel extremely overwhelmed with the amount of techniques that I want to add to my game. Would anyone suggest what techniques to master first and how to do so?
