New technique?

In the nintendo world trailer we see zamus doing a downwards kick similar to falcon kick without flames

in the sonic video we see him doing the exact same move
i know their down bs are currently unconfirmed but could this possibly be a new technique?

i think the move isnt special enough for 'special moves' and as it is shown on two completely different characters i think it is a new technique. post here to discuss or whether you have seen this move on other characters

I will never understand why people complain about footstool jumping.

I'm leaning towards this being a new "improving aerial combat" technique as well.

I was thinking that it could be an arial attack certain character have, just as Mario would get the Mario Tornado, othe characters could get a downward strike kick.

Possibly, but a generic move for everyone sounds kinda boring
*thinks back to footstool jump and shudders*
Couldn't you use the word generic with metor smashes, sheild grabs, and air dodge then? I never found these moves boring.. We don't know yet how foot stool or any other new move will be in actual play because no one has played yet.

air dodges, and shields are for defence, and shield grabs are counters. As for throws, each person has their own unique version and everyone's meteorsmash is different. It just seems like if everyone has that falling kick technique, it'd get boring. Just my opinion, i'm not asking you to take it as your own.

I'm pretty sure that diving kick is being implimented for characters who have a down special that doesn't work in the air.
