New Teching?

Remeber back in melee, how if you were tumbling and you pressed L just as you hit the ground, your character would handspring or roll back up right away? And do you remember how you could even wall or ceiling tech? And do you also remember how you could wall jump from a wall-tech, even if your character could not usually wall jump?

I do, and I'm sure most of you all do to. Now imagine if teching was expanded on. This thought occured to me when my opponent threw a pokeball out and an unknow appeared. Now these unknowns came and started juggling me like a *****. I then thought, wouldnt it be awesome if I could tech the unknowns, which was obviously impossible.

However, now in brawl they have the footstool jump, which looks like an amazing new technique. But what if you could now tech off of your opponents? What if you could tech to a footstool jump your opponents? I think that would be an awesome inclusion in the game.

Now I realise that nothing has been said about these potential new techs from the E4All demo, but I dont know if thats because it hasnt been tried, or nobody saw/realised it or if it just doesnt exist. Please discuss your thoughts on these new types of techs.

I wasnt asking if you can tech, I was asking if you cant tech on opponent's body
We'll you cant pass through your opponents. thing about C. Falcon and Ganondorf's B^ in melee. they grabed the opponent and blew them up. then they flew off of them.(Sorry if i made that sound terrible). Its not too far off from teching off your opponent. I'd love to see this kind of Stuff in Brawl. and if not. *dramatic pause.

The next super smash bros game :O

that is not a tech because you are not in a flying stance, you are in a jumping one, teching ends your *uncontrolled momentum*

Hmm, an interesting thought. I think that would be a great thing to have. However, it doesn't seem to have very much use in 1 vs. 1, does it? Furthermore, would it be cool if you could grab someone with you while flying across the stage?

That's interesting, but I would suggest very precise timing to pull it off. It doesn't look like it'll be in Brawl, but it is something to think about.

Furthermore, wouldn't it be cool if when you and your opponent used the same attack at the same time (both used Smash up or something), both of you went into a timed button sequence for a short period of time? The person who won the button sequence then inflicts 20 damage on the loser!:)

Up smash? No. I wouldn't like that.

However, Fsmash would be a nice idea. If you are playing Marth vs Roy, and they both Fsmash or F + A at the same time, you hear a sword cling, and they bounce off.

I think button smashing would take too long.

what would be cool is if when you tech'd on the ground you can go right into an attack. you know like in melee if you didn't tech and you pressed A to get up you would do and attack? something like that but it'd be a tech

The button mashing idea is silly. In FFA it wouldn't be dramatic at all if the camera didn't zoom in on the two players, and the other players could attack them (unless they are granted invincibility, but that would be just as silly).

In a 1 vs 1 match it is also silly because the player who can mash buttons faster will win. That isn't the kind of game SSBB is. It's timing and strategy, not button smashing.

The point is to freeze all action on the screen until the two are done, and yes, zoom in on them. plus the timed button presses would not just be A or B, but A B Y X. So you wouldn't know whta the next one would be. If you press the wrong cue button, you lose the fight.

Edit: Nevermid this post
Yeah, I think this mgiht have existed in Melee. I saw computers doing it at least. It's a button you have to press right when you get grabbed. Now all we need is a "smash vocabulary expert" in here to tell us what this is.

::edit::

Never mind this post.
