New Smasher from Baltimore Area

Hey guys, I'm a student at UMBC and I've been getting into PM a lot lately. I main Diddy but the only people I really play with are three guys I go to school with. If I was interested in the competitive scene, where would I start? What should I be practicing?

You could start by looking around the Regional Zones forum to see if you can find anymore Smashers in your area. The more practice buddies you have, the better.

If you're interested in reading a general guide, I'm sure you'll find this helpful since you're looking to get into the competitive scene.

As for Diddy Kong specifics, the PM Diddy Kong sub-forum would be the best place for you. It contains videos, plenty of discussions, and I believe a Diddy specific guide you can look at.
