New Smash item ideas?

Here's something that nobody ever seems to talk much about. It's another one of the more obscure parts of the Smash Bros. series alongside stuff like the trophies and enemies (in Smash Run or whatever).

What new kinds if items would add to Smash?

Double Cherry (Super Mario 3D World)

Just pick one up and you'll create a double of your fighter, who moves and attacks in unison. You aren't able to get a third "double", by the way. The double fighter is temporary and will disappear after a while.

Ice Flower (Mario series)

Like how the Fire Flower shoots flames at enemies, the Ice Flower will shoot an icy mist that will freeze them.

Piranha Plant (3D World and Mario Kart 8)

It's in the pot. Hold onto it when you pick it up, and press A to make it lash out and snap at them.

Skull Hammer (Zelda: The Wind Waker)

Press A to swing it to attack others. But use a Smash Attack with it, and you'll slam it on the ground, causing a shockwave and dealing significant damage to an unlucky opponent. Anyone nearby won't be damaged, but pushed back like wind from the impact of the slam.

Laser (Star Fox)

Remember how unconventional things like the Fire Bar, Steel Diver, and Hocotate ship got converted into items? This has a trigger added to the bottom of it, and is a shooting weapon.

Press A once to make it shoot lasers (from the two things on the side).

And hold A to charge your laser! You can also lock on the enemies this way!
(...What? I'm serious)

Wario Bomb (WarioWare)

It's a throwing/explosive item. Pick it up, and it starts flashing red. Throw it, but nothing happens, and it lands on the ground regularly. Pick it up again and keep throwing it.

But later on, the 3-2-1 will appear over it and then it goes off, regardless of where it is and who’s holding it.

Ultra-Spicy Spray (Pikmin)

Pick this up and it will power up your stats significantly and make your character burn up with a red fiery aura. Of course, it's temporary.

Fishing Rod (Animal Crossing)

I always found it odd how the Villager didn't have this as part of his/her moveset, not even as a tether recovery. It's used like a battering item, but it can grab items from afar and bring them to you. Also opponents and ledges (when pressing A in the air)

One idea that I've heard some DK fans mention over in the new fighter speculation boards that I think would be cool is an animal buddy crate that'd work sort of like a poke ball but give you a random animal buddy from the DKC series to help you out. I think your ideas all sound pretty workable too.

As for other ideas, how about an ultra-bitter spray (Pikmin 2) that has an effect sort of similar to Yoshi's egg? Or an inkzooka or killer wail from Splatoon (if they aren't part of an Inkling fighter's moveset)?

And here's another:

Prism Shield (Kirby's Return to Dream Land)

Like how the Back Shield protects you from behind, this item will be an overhead shield for you as you continue fighting.

Animal Crate from Donkey Kong Country, even if it's just Rambi alone.

This needs to happen in Smash.

Nobody can't say ****. This needs to happen.

Yeah, I don't know why that was taken out. Would have loved to see it get a redesign.

Here's one more.

Bulbmin (Pikmin 2)

We have items that are more character-like such as Mr. Saturn and Cuccoos, so here's this. They'll walk around in packs, and anyone who grabs them will have command of them for a while. They'll follow the player who grabbed one of them, and the player can throw them at others, so they'll latch onto them and bite at them. They work just like Olimar/Alph's Pikmin.
