I was thinking about making a new website which would have a compilation of everything related to smash 4, and I would love some help. If you're interested in this idea pm me and we will communicate further from there.

This is nice an all but you need to question yourself first. Do you know web design? Do you know HTML/CSS/Javascript (front-end development)? Do you know how PHP/.NET/Python/Java/Ruby/other (back-end development)? Do you have money to pay for a hosting service that will allow for decent amounts of traffic every day? Do you have a plan that will set you apart from other websites such as this one? How will you be able to bring traffic to your website? Because it sure is depressing to see that you only have 2 visitors per day on your website at first. More importantly, if you need someone to do any of this, do you have the money to pay someone to work for you? Design and programming is time consuming and usually people who are doing it for free don't know what they're doing. You sure don't want to have security holes everywhere don't you?

If you answered no to any of these questions then you're not in a position to do this. It doesn't seem like it but making a website requires a large amount of work and no one will be willing to work with you if you're not able to do your part of the job. You should learn how to do some basic web design and look into some programming. When it comes to programming I suggest you look into either doing front-end or back-end development. While it does help to know a little bit of both, you should focus on one of the two. Basically the key differences is that front-end will focus on what the user will see on the website, such as bringing the design to life and adding some simple animations, and back-end will focus on what happens behind the scenes, such as creating the databases for your users, news or content and creating the administrative tools. Either way, if you plan on working with people I suggest you learn to use Github once you get the hang of programming. Source control is a very important thing. It allows you to roll back on versions if you ever have problems and it allows multiple people to work on the same things and merge everything together easily. You know what the best part of this is? If you end up enjoying it you could easily pursue a career out of it.

I hope this helps.
