SmashBoards has successfully been moved to a new server! As many of you know, the boards were down for several hours today as the large database was transferred to the new server. I wasn't intending for the site to be down that long, but we ran into a few problems with the db import so I apologize for the extra downtime.
SWF is now located on two dedicated servers. Our new server is functioning as a database-only server, while our previous server is now the web server. This should alleviate ALL the lag and downtime problems we were having for most of the summer. It should also be able to handle the surge of new members that will come when Brawl is released.
For those interested, the new server is an E5310 Clovertown server with 4gb ram, dual SCSI drives, and 8 processor cores at 1.6 GHz each.
