He BETTER get a lot of time off after the game is released. Unless he decides to do DLC, in which case, he's not gonna get a break anytime soon.

But it's nice to know a small portion of all the hard work being poured into the game. It's also good to know that Namco Bandai's efforts on the game are helping in making his job that much easier.

This might be the most well-built Smash Bros yet.

I have to agree. I haven't been this excited for a game release in quite some time. Hearing about all the hard work going into this game just makes it that much better.

Sakurai sure loves to whine about his job a lot. He keeps making it seem like he's doing so much and wants so much sympathy from everyone even though he's hardly shown anything to indicate said grandiose amount of work. XD

Eh, whatever.

We have 2 good ones and one mediocre one. I wouldn't call any of them "great".

And for the guy to stop crying about his apparent problems and pains and just do his job, make the game and show off things that will actually interest a majority of people in wanting to get it instead of only doing whatever he wants and thinking he can get away with it in the long run. In short, nothing I've seen has me sold on Smash 4, so I don't care about how Sakurai is doing personally. It doesn't help that I honestly just don't like him or the way he thinks in terms of game design. (He's no Tetsuya Nomura, but he's getting pretty damn close lately.)

So yeah, no sympathy. Less talk, more work and results please.

I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me or anything, I'm just saying my thoughts. Unless Sakurai loses two arms and a legs or has a heart attack, he's gonna have to do a lot more than talk about the "pains" of his job for the millionth time in an interview to get my sympathy. XD

So he hasn't shown you things that you're personally interested in, therefore you don't like him.

Wow.

...You completely read that wrong. XD

Not seeing anything I'm interested in is why I'm not impressed with Smash 4 so far. That's nothing major.

Conflicting thoughts on game design and his overall attitude when talking about such things in general and a lot of the decisions he's made in the past and recently are the reasons I don't like him.

So wait, is iot a case of him trying to do everything himself, or is it more that he's just building the base of the characters and sending it off to the other developers to refine and balance them

Well, I seemingly just put more emphasis on how you weren't impressed with Smash 4.

As for the design philosophy, that's always subjective, but I don't see a reason to not care about someone just because he has different design philosophies. The man is literally hurting himself by making this game because of his pretty serious arm injury, not to mention the stress of having to deal with so many different people's IPs and constantly having to sort out legal stuff, that's only something I'd wish upon my worst enemy. By the end of the day it's still just a game, I don't see why I'd not care about a person just because he has different design philosophies. I'm someone who usually cares a lot about most people I meet though, even strangers, so I guess I'm just a sympathetic man. Even if he wanted to go 100% the Melee route, which I'd be against, I'd still care about him, heck, I still do when he makes games like Kid Icarus: Uprising even when I've never had any interest in it.

I can think of far worse things I'd wish upon and personally do to my worst enemies, but I'm a relatively violent person when it comes to people I don't like, so that's a given. XD

I don't see why I need to care so much about a person I haven't met or have no personal interest in to begin with. I'm interested in what he makes, not Sakurai himself. He's just some guy who had made maybe one or two games I've played before. He isn't someone I respect and admire like Kenji Inafune. *shrugs*

Like I said, everything I've said are my own thoughts and viewpoints which can't be changed without a reason I feel befitting. It's just how I feel. Don't let it bother you since you're more than allowed to care about him. ¦D

Scary how Sakurai is killing himself over Smash... I wouldn't be shocked if this is prophetic... the man needs to give it a rest for a while. :(
