New player with tournament interest in canada

Is there any resource for tournament hosts and things of that nature. As a newer player to the scene I'd like to start traveling even for weeklies a short distance to help improve. I'd greatly appreciate some input on this as I feel in Canada at least me and my friends are having trouble finding any sort of resource for tourney information

I'm also new to the scene. The best resources I found were the events tab on Smashboards, Smash.gg, and honestly google helped a lot. I found one facebook page that led to another and another.

For me atleast it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be to find tournys, but if you keep looking I'm sure you'll hit the jackpot soon.
