Sup, I recently started playing melee, and I have some questions regarding Falcon

1) What does Falcon do in the neutral position? From what I've seen it's a lot of DDs and WDs, but is there anything else?

2) How should I use nair? I really have a problem figuring out this one. Is it a combo starter? A extender? A zoning tool?

3) When should I use dair? I'm guessing I should only use it while in a combo or when I'm tech-chasing.

I may have some more questions later. I don't have any videos yet, but I'll be sure to post them here when I get some recorded.

First off, while it's kind of a misnomer, Falcon Social is our Q&A Thread.
Second go read through the links in the Falcon index thread. Lot of gold in there. Also If you find Scar/G-Regs thread a lot of good stuff in there you just have to dig for it.
Now in order

1) His main tools are DD grab and Nair. There is way more to it, but it all becomes very situation. Nair is generally used while fading back to zone and aimed through your opponent to get in.
2) It's your spacing tool. and mid percent combo starter. It links to knee at mid percents. It's pretty good, but high level players can smash di-out of the first hit. It also has some shenanigans with just using the first hit of it to gimmick some grabs.
3) Dair leads to a hard punish follow up (grabs, knees, more stomps). Generally very spacing dependent, but commonly you will use it to punish rolls, missed techs, spot dodges, dash attacks and DD grab.

Looks like you are from Sweden. See if you can get a hold of Jeapie, he's a beast falcon and could show you the ropes.

Jeapie is from Holland...

I don't know about the scene in Stockholm, but Rocky in Gothenburg could help you out alot. He's definitely one of the best Falcons in Europe.

Nair is everything for CF. I like to whiff a nair to make my opponent chase me, then run away into a pivot. From there you can usually punish their missed punish with alot of different things, depending on how close you are. A pivot nair is most likely to hit in these situation, but knees and grabs are great too.

Lycka till fyfan, och kom gärna förbi skåne nångång!

Oh, I should've looked a bit closer :p One more thing before I abandon this thread: How do you deal with Crouch Canceling? I had some trouble with a Marth CCing all my approaches, and it was easy to see when I went in for the grab. Thanks for the answers :D

I've got (still have) problems versus CF because I CC too much. Your Dair beats CC hard. Knee works well too.
I suppose you know of the Swedish scene, and will attend Beauty7 ^^
