New PAL tier list creation - PHASE 1

So back to business.
Since the PAL Tier List discussion topic in the european section is active again I started thinking about how we could get this done and my ideas were kinda similar to the post Marc made in the public topic.

(here is the post just for reference)

Countries I'd like to include:

Austria, France, Germany, Italy , Spain , Sweden , the Netherlands, UK, Norway, Finnland

Don't know if you didn't include Norway and Finnland on purpose because they have rather small smash scenes or if you just forgot about them, but I think they should at least get one spot each considering one of our european MBR comes from Finnland (Samo) and Norway has a smasher who has been to many european tournaments and even attended a US tournament (Tonberry).

Overall I think we should let more people vote than you currently suggested Marc, however that's just my personal opinion.

I don't think we need a seperate board or something, someone (I can do it if you want) could just gather all lists via private messages.
If we have like one contact person per country (let's say we have Helios as a contact person for sweden), he could just tell the people to send me a PM with their lists or PM me their lists himself if some of those people (like Armada) don't have a smashboards account.

Also I have a few ideas about the voting system, gonna post them later.

I honestly forgot about Norway and Finland and don't entirely agree with the numbers just yet (though I will agree to having more voters), but this should be the gist of it. I also agree some of the lists will have to be gathered away from SWF due to people like Armada not having an account.

My suggestion is this... We use this topic to agree on how many voters and which for each region (including representatives), that will be phase 1. After that we'll have the representatives hunt down all the lists for as far as voters don't have SWF accounts. The lists will be collected in one thread (I might even lock that permanently and post all the lists in there myself), while there will also be a discussion thread open to everyone (including M2K ). Both topics will be open for two weeks or so, that will be phase 2. After that we simply decide on the splits (phase 3).

Representatives in red, my/Tero's suggested voters in white. Representatives may however do this how they see fit (within reason), as long as their voters (including themselves) don't exceed the permitted number of voters. If I marked you as a representative, please shoot me a PM or leave a message in this thread so that I know you're on board. Now's the time to speak up with any complaints/ideas about the process. Please keep in mind that this is a joint effort. If you don't believe in tiers or having a PAL tier list, this is not the thread to ***** about that.

I'm also interested in the voting system .Tero (or anyone else) has in mind. My idea was to have everyone simply offer up an ordered list, as it is a simple statistical fact that having an aggregate of data will compensate for noise (as in, people being way off).

There was actually only one and back then everyone thought Brawl would be good enough to make the transition.

Wow, Finland got 2 voters there ^_^. It's about time to make a new tierlist for PAL. Thanks Marc for organizing this! Im interested to see how high Jigglypuff and Peach is going to place.

Sounds like it could work. I'll see with the other Frenchies.

However, there's a problem with some players who don't understand English. Over will have a lot of trouble taking part in the debate, and so will Makenshi. It won't prevent them from making a tier list, but still, it won't make things easy.

with those numbers i dont mean how many people should vote for each country, but how "important" there would is (every country should pick their guys to discuss, then post with what they came up)

I understand. I think the numbers in the first post are pretty similar to those proportions.

Thanks for messaging me about this, Marc. Could you add 2 Australian voters to this list; we'll have our lists ready by March 15, as specified. The first person is S.D, the other person is myself.

I would like the know the possibility of adding an extra 1 to 2 extra voters on Australia's end.

IMO Australia could have a total of 3 votes. Glad you guys are on board, this is a true PAL tier list effort now.

As for updates: I know everyone is collecting lists, except for Samochan. Has anyone heard anything from her recently?
