New Official PAL Tier List

This might belong in the 2013 Tier List discussion, but everyone should know that PAL has just made a 2015 Tier list based on 36 (EU) top player's votes. We need to get ourselves together here in NTSC-Land and finally release a new tier list.

It'd be nice to have a new list. I don't agree with that one too much since Yoshi and Samus (she should not be higher than Pikachu lol) should probably be E tier while Ganon and Luigi move up to D.

I've never quite understood the obsession with tier lists and constantly updating them.


All that really matters is viable and NOT viable. And as the current tier list stands there isn't much that needs to be changed. The numbers and specific rankings matter even less. With all the time and energy wasted debating a new tier list 5 national tournaments could have probably been organized instead. I mean people will waste whole weeks arguing whether Fox or Falco are #1, and nothing will come of it since it doesn't matter either way.

For instance I think Pikachu could probably be considered S tier, Luigi and Yoshi should move up a few spots each, and I agree with Leffen and Triple R that Kirby should be above Pichu, Bowser, Zelda, and Ness. But who cares? because when I beat people with my Kirby it's even more embarrassing because he's dead last on the current tier list and they have no idea that he's actually not that bad.

@ kingPiano Tier lists serve a couple purposes, one being helping new players break through scenes using unconventional mains. So basicaly not much ; I agree that current tier list is bogus but no tier list should be as precise as the melee one imo.

The tiers should be : Can win a tournament / Can do well / Not very good / ****

Possibly? If you were coming to the USA for tournaments, it would be useful to get NTSC, but Europe only uses PAL if I remember correctly so it wouldn't be all that beneficial to you unless you were traveling out of the country for extended periods of time. 20XX is exclusive to 1.02, so it might not be a bad idea of getting an ISO of it sometime (but you wouldn't be able to play a NTSC disc on a PAL system).

This has been tried numerous times, but the conclusion has always been to go back and try to finish the community tier list started by Sveet in 2013. I'd be up for starting discussion, but in my experience, it's always died before getting to page 3.

Anyways, I feel like Marth definitely shouldn't be above Falco in NTSC. I think the thing that put Falco at a disadvantage in PAL is half of his Dair animation actually sends the opponent up and out instead of spiking them, but I feel like Falco has a lot of stronger MUs throughout the cast than Marth does. I also feel like Shiek should be higher than Marth, but that is more debatable.

Yeah Falco is probably number two. I think Marth is third, but yeah it's a debate.

I just saw that PAL released a tier list in the past two weeks and assumed everyone would refer to that as the "New PAL Tier List". To be honest, the NTSC comment was somewhat of an afterthought and I thought the new PAL list should deserve its own thread since I didn't see anything on the topic here.

I think Marth is third, but yeah it's a debate.

It's mainly personal preference really. I also feel like Marth-Sheik is not so one-sided as everyone seems to think.
