So I discovered something on accident in training mode working on QFR movement, got really excited, didn't see anyone else talking about it, then re-watched dark.pch's QFR tutorial and thought I saw him doing it in the examples showed of him playing. So, maybe people know about this already, but I haven't seen it discussed anywhere so I figured I might as well make a thread.
Basically what I noticed was if you are running a certain direction, jump, instantly double jump in the opposite direction, then instantly float, you can do a ground float (very slightly higher than a ground float out of a single jump) with a lot of momentum in the opposite direction you were running.
I found normally it takes a little while if you just do a ground float to start going in the opposite direction because of how much she slides around in the float. However double jumping instantly changes your direction, and so you can float away much quicker.
The easiest way I found to do this is run in one direction, then quickly rotate the joystick up, then the other way then down, pressing jump immediately after the joystick is up. (you need tap jump on for this)
It may not be super relevant, but I think a quicker way to change directions at the start of a float could be helpful.
Sorry if this is old news, I only recently began regularly perusing these forums so if this was discovered awhile ago I would have missed it.
