I call it 'Trip and Run' I found out after a fight with my brother, so here is how to do it.
Run up to your enemy (best on big characters) hold down, down and repeatedly keep tapping A untill your enemy becomes tripped, then QUICKLY! Swing your stick at the enemy like youve never swung before. This technique can be used with any of Lucases other moves like his up + A, or down + A. The reason its better than most other characters trip, is because Lucases down, A is noticeably fast.

Problem is that down tilt has just about no stun. I've literally gotten smash attacked between down tilts. At the very least, people can grab you between dtilts or jab you.

Maybe when you're behind someone who's shielding? Has anyone had any success with this move (on someone who wasn't on their back)?

Jab combo is better. Unless you trip on the first one or you're doing a dtilt lock. It doesn't matter if you're behind them or not, they can get out of the sheild and smash you with ease.

Yea, I figured as much. Would be nice if they did actually stun/hit faster so we'd have something (a ground move) we could do to shields that couldn't be shieldgrabbed.
