New Lucas- Not B-Sticking

Alright, I've made the decision to main Lucas (seeing as TL is tricky to pressure with, as it's not as easy as it looks to keep projectiles around the enemy at all times). However, I just finished beating all the Lvl9s, and I'm unsure of my strategy-- I'm not sure it'll be effective against human players. 1on1 FD no items 3stock, blah blah blah, 'cept Fox who I needed to do on Smashville since my disk is scratched. Lol at inablility to play Fox on FD.

My main strategy is a ground game, with Ftilts thrown out like mad and PKF whenever the opponent is in range. Computers also like to play a ground game, with perfect shields that force me to predict their rolls to land a string of hits. I don't B-stick, because I need to keep access to my Fsmash and occasionally Dsmash. I suppose it would be nice to use ZJ recovery since I haven't practiced with PKT2 much, but again Fsmash is very useful to me when it comes to punishing rolls, which computers love like chocolate.

Anyway, my big thing is how I get my kills. I don't know why, but if I can hit a comp while they are off the stage with PKT1, I can just push them off the side easy with a string of hits. Unfortunately, I know this can't be effective against a human, and I need to know why so I can best my cousin Dave. (one of the best MKs in the country according to Chillin, who he trains with and knows personally. It's dang scary to fight him. Heck, I'd be scared just to go to VT due to the concentration of uber smash players there)

So PKT1 edgesniping is weird, and I know I need to get aerial more. I full hop mostly (too used to tap jump), but I know that's not going to serve me well in a tournament, so I'm going to practice that. My only real aerial is Nair, but I throw out a Fair if the comp has a low pririty move. Utilt->Uair is pretty good too. I need to stress my reliance of PKF and Ftilt, which I use 80% of the time. I know that's not how Lucas should be played...

What I need is an effective Lucas strategy that would work in tournament. I'd like to get C+C on how I should fix my current strategy for people. Thanks!

You really need to play against people. Experience is an effective teacher.

General thing going from CPUs to people in any game: The same strat won't work three times against any reasonable person. If they've done the matchup, it might not even work the first time.

Once you start playing people, you'll be in a better position to ask the right questions in order to get better.

For PKT, you have to get tricky. Dont just push PKT to them, snake it around and tailwhip them making little loop[s in front of them if necessary.
