Smash Rookie
Hey there, I'm Deadlyx. I'm currently a high school student and I'm a pretty big Smash fan. I've never been amazingly good at the game, but I'm hoping I can learn some new stuff and meet some great people here.
Who do you main in your Smash game(s) of choice? Why?
Melee: Dr. Mario. Pretty well rounded character that gives me a bit more power wise than Mario was able to give me. While I play Melee a lot, I'm not good at the game.
Brawl: Mr. Game & Watch. I can't really explain this one. Might've had something to do with the fact that I used G&W in a tourney at a local Anime con and got into the Quarterfinals (There was no Loser's Bracket). Every since I've used G&W when I play Brawl
Smash 4 Wii U: I use Wario, Gannondorf, King Dedede and Bowser on Sm4sh. I love power characters in this game, and those four are all pretty powerful. The main reason why I started using Wario over all the others is because he offers more speed and has less of an opportunity to get comboed in the ways that Gannon, Dedede and Bowser do.
Why have you joined Smashboards? How did you hear about the site?
I've known about Smashboards for around 6 months. That was right around the time I first got interested in watching tournaments on Twitch and YouTube. I figured why not join Smashboards?
Do you attend tournaments? Do you want to?
As I said a bit earlier I do attend tournaments, but none the size of the tournies at Apex or EVO for example. Most of it comes from the fact that I normally won't enter tournaments with buy-ins if I don't think I have a chance at winning. I did almost enter the Melee tournament at Youmacon, but decided against it.
Talk about your interests outside of Smash Bros.!
I'm a big sports fan. I watch all of the big 4 sports in America (Hockey, Football, Baseball and Basketball) and I normally end up spending way too much money a year buying sports games. While I'm not big into anime, I do occasionally attend anime cons. Another interest I have is peripheral based rhythm games, such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band and DJ Hero. I am a HUGE fan of those three in particular as they're some of my all time favorite games to be honest.
What other communities are you a part of?
The only other community I'm a part of is the FFR community over at flashflashrevolution.com. If you're unaware of what that is, it's a game/forum where you play songs on your keyboard much in the way you would play DDR, except instead of using your feet, you use your fingers.
Well that ended up being a bit longer than I thought it would, anyway I do look forward to becoming a part of this community and have some fun doing it!
