New Gamecube Controllers

I wanted to find out a bit more about purchasing new controllers, and figured this would be the best place to look. Most of my current controllers are either old/dying or cheap knock-offs (****ing blasphemy). Has anyone here purchased a new controller recently? I'm considering buying one of these from Amazon, but I'm not sure about the build quality.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Vintage Stock is usually a good resource as well, their controllers are used, but usually in good condition and if you have any problems they will replace them if they have more in stock.

Yeah, the white ones are the best. I'm actually gonna order two more, because I'm tired of my friends coming over and knocking over/dragging around my Wii because they can't handle the length of the silver/orange ones. : P

Thanks guys! I was able to find a couple like-new official controllers from a long-time friend.

White are the best, they are sturdy and can be painted with no color problems, buy a few of those raw badasses and you'll be set

I never knew that they had longer cords. I use the black one and it still works for me quite well, now that I quit Mario Party on the GC games. lol

The cords are giant in comparison. I highly recommend the white ones (and can be bought to support smashboards I believe through amazon)

I like the clickiness of the white controllers' shoulder buttons. As in they have more resistance before snapping into a full press. White controllers also tend to have longer lasting analog sticks.

The downside is that the rubber on the left stick wears down extremely quick. I had to replace it after only a year of playing.

There is also apparently a slight discrepancy in the height of the Y button, that feels uncomfortable to some of the more technical spacie mains. It's also easily replaced.

As in the Y button is higher on the white controllers?

I could see that being annoying. I already feel like the Y button is too high.
