Are pieces of crap.
I ordered 2 new "Wii Pads" almost two months ago. They got here today, and one one of them, the B button does nothing. The other one the L and R buttons are garbage, and on both, if I touch nothing, the character walks to the right by itself! I'm awfuly pissed, because I have been using the same controller that came with my first gamecube, about 7 years ago. Even that one works better than these low quality hunks of junk. I could just switch to the Wiimote, but I don't feel like relearning everything. I'm off to EB Games to go buy an old used one.

I bought a third party gc controller from ebay a few months back, and it's working fine. Haven't had any issues at all.
Have you tried ebay, or is that where you got the two that don't work?

I got them from eBay. They only cost $20, but it was wasted in the long run.

I agree. There isn't as much of a risk of it happening again. Then again, the odds of it happening another time are pretty slim if you're smart; but it could.

I spent $10 on mine. Free shipping too. If I can find the seller who had like 3000 of them I'd link you.

Huh, that really sucks for you. This is why you buy the official Nintendo controllers kids!

I've had my recent controller for 5 years, it's also the one that came with the Gamecube itself. The only thing wrong with it is that it's pretty scratched up and there's tons of dried sweat all over it, lol. But yeah, generally 3rd party controllers are crap.

I worked at a place that sold these. A couple of things to watch out for: if it doesn't have the words NINTENDO GAMECUBE right above the start button, it's a cheap knockoff.

If it's a cheap knockoff, you shouldn't pay more than $2 + $5 shipping.

If it's a cheap knockoff, the sticks will probably be slightly off-center when left neutral, and will also probably be slightly more sensitive than official controllers. This makes doing tilts harder, since the controller has a tendency to register smashes more easily.

The cord will also be a foot shorter than official controllers' cords.

If your playstyle somehow doesn't need delicate control, these might be a good way to save a few bucks on a controller. If not, you aren't making anything impossible, but you are making a lot of things a pain in the ***.
