New Characters in Alternate Costumes

Hey there.
This thread is about theories with alternate costumes in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
So, instead of just having color swaps, we could have completely different outfits too.

One part is the theory that is explained with this example:
Wario wears his standard purple overalls and yellow shirt as an alternate costume, instead of his default WarioWare outfit.

The other aspect was already used in Melee:
Daisy, a completely different character, was featured as an alternate costume to Peach.
This could give minor characters that are similar to major ones more life, or it could also include different versions of the standard playable character. Keep in mind, it wouldn't change anything about the original character, except for how they look.

So, I've thought of both examples, and come up with places where it might be used on certain characters.
Keep in mind that I didn't include every character that I think will be in Brawl, just ones that I had ideas for alternate costumes/characters.
I put the character and the ideas I came up with for them sorted by franchise.

An argument that will probably come up that I will cover now:
"But if Kirby sucks in Wario in his alt. costume, he will get the WarioWare helmet, and not the yellow hat"
Response: Yeah, but when Kirby sucked in Pikachu wearing the Ash Hat, he still wore a regular Pikachu hat. (Example)
Case closed.

Of course, all of the ideas I've come up with in this thread are completely hypothetical, but let me know what your thoughts are, and if you have any ideas to add.

MARIO
Mario

Alternate Costumes:
Paper Mario

This is a stretch, but I think it might be possible to make Paper Mario an alternate costume for Mario. It might be difficult technically, because Paper Mario is 2D and Mario is 3D, but it's a slight possibility.

Doctor Mario

Dr. Mario was playable in Melee, but I think that he can be included in Brawl just as an alternate costume for Mario, instead of being his own character. This would be simple, because it is just a different outfit.

Peach

Alternate Costumes:
Daisy

Daisy was the original to pull the whole-new-character-as-an-alternate-costume in Melee, so hopefully it will happen again in Brawl.

Bowser

Alternate Costumes:
Dry Bones

Skeletal Bowser, imagine how kick a$$ that would be. It is in fact very possible, too

Yeah, it would be really awesome. Maybe the sword might even be able to be changed to the awesome curvy one too.

Ganondorf

Agahnim is an alter-ego of Ganondorf's. So, he would just be a major costume change, but still Ganondorf in Brawl.

Yoshi

The B is for bada$$ Yoshi.
This is Boshi, he's from Super Mario RPG. He looks just like Yoshi, except blue with a collar, a big orange spike, and some shades. He could definitely happen.

The original Wario, we've seen it everywhere. Why not include it?

Dixie Kong

OK, this one is kinda weird. But, it could work, and it would show off a new character, as well as a female character. OK. So, IMO, Dixie Kong does not deserve her own spot in the Brawl roster. Debating that is for another thread. If there is a Diddy-Dixie tag, this cancels out, but if it is just Diddy, Dixie could definitely be an alternate costume. She is just Diddy with pink clothes and a pony tail. She has the same abilities as Diddy, unlike Dark Samus to Samus, which is below.

Samus

Alternate Costume:
Power Suits

Samus has a lot of different power suits. Instead of just changing the color, maybe the design of them can change slightly. For example, the size of shoulder guards could change, making a noticeable difference.

Dark Samus

READ!! In my opinion, Dark Samus deserves his own roster slot. He has completely different abilities than Samus, and has a lot of distinctions against her. He is also an enemy of hers, unlike Dixie, who is an ally to Diddy. But, I suppose he could be just an alternate costume to the normal Samus...but it wouldn't work as well.

STAR FOX
Fox

James McCloud

The distinction between Fox and his father is very slim, as you can see, but I'm sure Nintendo could figure out something to show that this alternate costume was actually James McCloud. They could always just put the shades on, and make his outfit a little more retro-looking.

I just want to say that Star Wolf would be a HORRIBLE alternate costume to Fox. The two characters are just too different, and Wolf deserves his own slot, so don't suggest it.

EARTHBOUND/MOTHER
Ness/Lucas

(Ness or Lucas. One of them is going to be in. Save the debating for another thread.)

Anyway, if Ness is in, then Lucas can be an alternate costume for him, and vice-versa.
So, if alternate costumes become a reality, they might both be in Brawl, one more than the other.

F-ZERO
Captain Falcon

(If he comes back)

Alternate Costume:
Phoenix

Phoenix looks like a black and white Captain Falcon with a funky helmet and a cape. It could work out, yo.

PIKMIN
Captain Olimar

(Whether or not you think he should be in, save it for another thread.)

Alternate Costume:
Louie

Louie is Olimar's sidekick. He has a bigger head and blue spots instead of red on his uniform, so he could easily be another costume for Olimar.

SONIC
Sonic

(Who knows if he's in, but go to the Sonic thread to debate it, not here)

Alternate Costume:
Metal Sonic

Sonic, evil metal version. Pretty cool.

Shadow

Another Sonic look-a-like enemy. It could happen.

Keep in mind, Sonic is third party, so Nintendo needs to get the rights to use them in Brawl.
If Sonic is playable, it probably took a lot of negotiating, and it would be equally as difficult to get the rights for MS and Shadow, just for them to be Alternate Costumes.
Nintendo probobly wouldn't want to spend the money on their rights just to make them AC's. The same goes for third party Assist Trophies.

cool the paper mario thing is astretch tho.... acctually a lot of them are.... I WISH that they made different suits for samus.... not that zero suit bull... I mean the dark/light suit from echoes.....that would be epic win

Cool, sounds like a good idea. Some of the character's alt costumes you posted i dont really like. I'm just hoping for samus in other suits. I loved the light suit from metroid prime 2.

Hmm, I had a similar idea, though the alt costumes would have to be unlockable (which, I think, would make more sense - if you wanna play as Fierce Deity Link, you should have to work a bit for it).

i spent the whole time i was in the dark suit (which is the majority of the game) waiting to get the light suit.

but, if they put in every suit, then excluded the dark suit it would be weird. for the sake of the light suit, i say the dark suit can get in.

Because they certainly can't adjust hight or anything, hance why Bowser is 5X the size of Mario.
