Hello everyone New To the smash tournament scene can anyone show me where i can find smash events In NYC also im a rookie who just has a passion for smash bros I'd love to go to tournaments just to watch and learn about the game from watching other player's in the scene I heard that there's a huge smash scene in NY so i'd like to join in on the fun

You missed the NY(C) regional zone by a little bit. Check here:

You find it from smashboards.com going through Forums > Smash Tournaments - Regional Zones > Atlantic North.

Since NYC is large/diverse, there seems to be not a single thread for it, instead a bunch of threads will randomly show up about various happenings.

Unfortunately, most of the NYC/NJ scene hangs out on facebook instead of smashboards. You can find the group in some of those threads... (I'm a fb-hater). It's a good way to find out about the local events. There are regular weekly happenings here for melee/pm and even a Sunday brawl event somewhere not too far out in NJ.

I'm in downtown Brooklyn, playing Brawl until smash4 comes out.....
