It looks great, and it's always very nice to see people willing to spend the time it takes to draw comics on your own (i almost never finished one).

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i see a big influence of One Piece in your style, which is always a good thing. Am i right?

I'd only like to make one criticism, if you allow me: you might want to work on the poses a bit, as they seem a bit rigid and forced. Try to practice that, but right now you're on a great track.

I don't know, many people just come here for the signature and avatar shops and mostly ignore artwork threads (i'm not implying that sigmaking isn't art in itself)

And yeah, don't worry, it doesn't look like imitation at all, you just can see an influence there -which is a good thing-. Oh, i love the detail by the way, and the fact that you take the time to draw scenery (and do it well, to boot)

wow man..the last pic you posted finally loaded up,
ive gotta im impressed.

and yeah, the whole realism thing is a pain,
but if you get used to it, it definently helps.

Those are some freaky and interesting monsters. I really liked them. Overall, i have to say that i admire all the effort and work that you seem to put in your characters and their design. It shows -to me- that you really care about them.

You definitely need more practice with those hands, although many look very acceptable. The only thing that seems consistently wrong in all of them is the little finger, it's just so.. strange.

And the colored one isn't bad at all. Better than my colored artwork, at least.

I look forward to seeing more of your work; it's different and actually interesting. It's also cool that you provide descriptions / background history, i always appreciate that.

Your style has really grown Shy :] I really like the most recent batch of drawings, I love the way you draw women (maybe cause my tendency is to draw women very very slender and organic like >_>), it reminds me of a webcomic I read a while ago....

Nice stuff, lookin forward to seeing more :]

I kind am sorry for posting similar stuff pretty often..But in a way I am kind of pissed a real art topic is getting eaten alive by sig topics...So it's my revenge. :D

Wow....Mark. This is amazing. I only get to peek at yr sketch book every now-and-again, so most of this is pretty new to me.

I love the looks of the Veronika and Mickey characters. Erin Sharque is still my favorite, though.

Can't wait to see where you take this, man. You have my support. ^__^

Huge Update!

I edited out some of the 2007-early 08 pics because frankly they're pretty embarrassing and they waste too much space.

The biggest issue with your work is how you draw hands and the positions. Hands should be aproximately the size of one's face and yours are on many occasions too small and very awkwardly placed and drawed. Also remember that male hands are often bigger than female hands and female hands are more slender. Hands are often one of the toughest parts on human anatomy one needs to learn, but it's also very important for they are always visible on some ways. You can practice drawing your arm in front of mirror, memorising images and such and looking at references.

You need to work on your poses more too, the current ones are still stiff but I see some improvement. Your arms are also kinda anorectic on most images, you need to flesh em out and stop making them look like sticks. Study how you can bend your own body and maybe look at the mirror, so you see how your body part bends and how does it look like and where the muscles go. Work on building getting ahold of frog perspective better as well.

I see you have fairly good grasp at lineart, coloring and cleaning up the pic however. Alternating between soft, hard, thin and thick strokes via pen/pencil/whatever to make your lineart fleshes it out better, you could practice that too. You could also try and work with lightning, how dark lightning affects the image as a whole and not just experiment with brighter color scheme. Like the colored image on the comic could've been a lot more darker to create a darker mood. Good job in any case though, continue the good work but don't forget to work on the pointers I gave you. :3

QFT soo much. Also, your mouths. You often overexxagerte the lip size of your people. Lips should not be huge unless injected with collogen.
