NEW SUB FORUM
Ok gais. Virg, TM, and I have some big plans for this room. I have been chosen to not only help see this along, but to be your new overlord and target of contempt.
Firstly, as I know many people(anyone who’s bothered to ever look in this forum)have noticed, a good portion of the threads are devoted to sigs. Sigs sigs sigs. It’s what gets discussed and updated probably more than anything else here. While there is nothing wrong with that, I feel it can slightly discourage anyone with traditional art to post; making them feel like they wouldn’t be appreciated as much or get as much attention in a sig heavy forum. Also, trying to showcase two different forms of art in one forum gets messy and makes things cluttered, as we’ve needed topics for both standard art, and sig related art. It’s distracting and just not pleasant to see x amount of sticky threads taking up a good portion on the top page.
By popular demand to deal with this, and so that sigs can have their own place to shine and be appreciated, we here at the AE have decided to give sigs their own sub forum. All sig related topics on the first page and stickies will be moved to this new forum. The critique thread will become a critique thread just for sigs, while the main AE’s critique shop will just be for traditional art.
Also, in order to try and bump interest and participation in the AE, we will have a gallery showcasing works of art in both the sig subforum and the main AE to be chosen twice a month. We will also be running a monthly(or perhaps bimonthly)art theme that people can participate in and choose the themes for. We can vary these accordingly depending on demand.
So hopefully we can get these changes underway as soon as possible and I hope everyone will find them a huge improvement and step forward.
