Yes, I have tried reinstalling, formatting and I have everything necassary at the root of the SD card (for the homebrew version)

3.5 has been working ever since release on my 4.3U Wii, and I was literally playing online last night.

Heres what happens:

Open up Homebrew Channel with Brawl Disc inside in perfect condition
Select Project M, the only thing on this SD card with custom music in the strm document.
Launchee appears, and here where things jack up.

Everything looks fine. Now, if I press play, you hear the disc being read, but it then stops and shows the Wii menu transition (the one with grey shaded channels lighting up) and it brings me back to the Wii menu.


Now, if I stay on the launcher, the news bar will have "Connecting" scrolling across, and when it changes to "downloading" for a split second, 1 of two things appear:

Exception (DSI) occured!

or

Exception (Program) occured!


Nothing has changed or happened to my Wii from last night to now, so what is wrong?

Tried connecting with internet off, fixed the issue of it glitching after being idle on the launcher, but it still returns me to the Wii menu when I select play.

Did you put in the music folder the day before the mod stopped functioning correctly. It might just be you need to remove the music file.

Have you ever had disc reading errors?.. if so, that's probably what you're getting that's booting you to the wii menu...

That really isn't the problem, It's been happening for awhile, but as long as I pressed play before it came up, it worked.

I've had the music in and haven't moved/updated any of the files for atleast a week.

Have you ever had disc reading errors?.. if so, that's probably what you're getting that's booting you to the wii menu...

I tried running Brawl normally, the game runs fine. Looked at the disc, no smudges or scratches as usual.


I'm still trying to figure out the issue, and my friend is coming over soon to test his SD card to see if the issue is my Wii or SD card.

Just redownloaded the homebrew version for some hope, and the gameconfig.txt didn't appear when I extracted the zip folder. Can someone copy and paste whats in theirs so I can make my own txt file?

Thank you, this seemed to work. What could have caused the file to delete itself?

I'm guessing you got a corrupt download or something...
