Neutral Air with no lag

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it here, but it's a nice technique doing a neutral air with 4 kicks with no lag time after. Simply press jump quickly twice then perform a neutral air. By the time the 4th kick lands, you will be standing on the ground.

Now there's a handful of things you can do with this.

1. First the most obvious, if an opponent is the right height above, you can land all 4 kicks.

2. If your opponent is on the ground, you can time it so the last kick hits.

3. If you land right in front of the opponent, you can immediately shield grab.

4. If you land right in front of the opponent, you can immediately forward tilt. This often works as people expect a lag after your N-air.

5. You can pull out a grenade, shield, drop it, and perform the move. If done correctly you should be able to pick the grenade up as you perform the neutral Air. This requires a lot more timing than then simply full jump, neutral air and grab grenade technique. Anyways the moment you land, you can roll towards your opponent, shield and let the grenade explode. Or you can simply throw the grenade.

6. You can pull out a grenade, shield, drop it, then pick it up. Then short hop, down smash to throw the grenade downwards, neutral air and pick the grenade up. Then when you land, immediately shield, because the grenade will explode. This move can be done while running towards an opponent, but you have to stop for a moment in the air after the short hop, or the you won't catch the grenade. All together I believe it takes 8 buttons to execute.
B, Shield, A, Jump, Down Smash, Jump, A, Shield then BOOM.

7.. Perform the move, and once you land the 4th kick, immediately do a motor slide. If done correctly there should be no lag between the 4th kick and the slide. I sometimes repeat the sequence a few times, and it looks like an incredibly fast snake.

To further reduce the lag to nothing, you must fastfall during the 3rd kick. This may take practice.

Isn't this just finishing the move before you land? If so, you can do this with any character. You just do the aerial on the way up. But those are some ok strategies to go with the idea.

Yes you're right. But the whole point of this move is removing that 1 whole second after the 4th kick where snake becomes vulnerable to grabs and attacks. Many times it's very difficult to grab or attack my snake because I have a grenade that explodes after my move. I'm not claiming I'm the best or anything. But ever since I incorporated this tactic among a few other strategies, I've gotten a 41 winning streak on gamebattles.

The DJ nair in itself isn't that great because it won't combo like a full jump nair would, but I like all your setups with it, and you've given me reason to take a second look at it. I'll be tinkering with this next time I play.

This is a pretty nice touch i gotta admit. Though i often 'nade before N-airs all the time anyway, no lag after can result in many counter abilities and other starts. You've got me thinking about it at least. Thanks for the info.

I was playing with ways to make Snake's Nair and Dair and Fair hot from the ground. For his Dair, I found that if you hold down on the control stick and quickly tap Y, A; he will short hop and all for hits will go off before he lands--usually doing around 28 damage. As for his Fair, just do the quick Y, A taps while dashing. He will short hop and bounce them quite nicely. Lastly for his Nair, rather than tapping Y, A; you should use the same timing as before but don't release Y when you hit A. If done properly he will full jump, but since he starts the kicks from ground level the hits drag the opponent along with you for all four hits.
