hi everyone,, i have some questions i dont know if the have been posted already but im gonna ask you any ways.... first of all.. how do i need to move my fingers in order to do the up tilt as soon as i l cancel an aerial in order to keep comboing? its just that i always end up doing the up smash... and second how can the neutral A help me? ive seen videos where people do it and they can grab after that but im not very sure how well does the A work?... :psycho: PLEASE anyone heeelp me..thanks

You need to tilt the analog stick slightly to uptilt after an aerial. It's much easier to uptilt from a throw since you can upthrow -> hold up and then uptilt. Just practice shffling aerials to an uptilt. If you tilt the stick too high you will upsmash. Jab to grab does not work well with Marth. His neutral A is too laggy. Dtilt to grab has a better chance.

Arcnatural pretty much answered your questions but, as far as attacks to grabs go, you could also side B-> grab rather than jab -> grab. Jab -> grab isn't really that useful with Marth.

thanks but i still dont get how to use the neutral A(jab), the CPU sometimes cancels my attacks by doing that, how can i make use of this, i usually use it before a Fsmash....or is it always better use side B than jab for comboing?

ok, this is the order
-u attack in the air doing shfflcanceling
-when u just finish l cancelling, u hae to move ur thumb up but not so much, and press a jsut after u fall, thas how i do it and everytime i do it i get a combo..

wait u r a Marth user rite? because if u r, i usually JC grab with him. but >_B to grab does work. oh n while SHFFLing, doing an Uptilt after an Upair SHFFL is easier than the other aerials IMO becuz u can just hold the joystick up while Lcanceling.

EDIT: i forgot yer supposedly a Marth user (still not sure). one of combo starters with Marth is to Dair SHFFL then Uptilt. after that u can do some Fairs or w/e. i smash attack too sometimes (i always thot it was my controller haha) but if u get it right, it's really useful

First of all, stop playing lvl 9 cpus. There frame perfect timing makes the jab look beautiful but it isn't practical with Marth. Just watch all the video's in the sticky on the Marth boards (I believe it's the 2nd thread but it's up there somewhere) to get a better idea of how to use Marth. Only characters that have really practical neutral As are peach, fox, falco, sheik, falcon, and ganon. I'm sure I missed a few but trust me, Marth isn't on that list at all.

Arcnatural speaks truth. The main thing however, is purely practice. Techniques such a pivoting (the version where you manually reset the control stick to neutral) is great for precision training. Just practise SHFFLd fair -> utilt for 10 mins, play some matches/take a long break, 10 mins again, perhaps repeat the next day. You'll feel yourself steadily improving until you can do it almost unconciously.

THANKS ALOT EVERY ONE, yea i am a marth user all the way hehe and i plan to be the best in mexico hehe, ok so ive practiced the shffling utilt and its working , like everything else you just have to practice, and about the jab ive seen videos of foxes, falcos and peaches using their A and then comboing after that or grabri ng and i thought marth could do that too, so one last question is there any use of marths jab?????????????????

Yes, there is in fact. Against characters who have fast shffl attacks I.E Fox and falcon's nair, you may want to use the jab instead of the dtilt. This is because the dtilt does not reach them when they shorthop and they can counterattack before your IASA frame. It's really good for stopping them in their tracks too and they don't react to the change in speed easily, giving you another free hit.

The way I mainly use the jab is when edgeguarding a spacie and they try to -> B onto the stage rather than onto the ledge. If you stand so that your sword reaches over the stage with your attacks, you can use the jab to cancel their -> B and they will fall forcing them to use their up B, which can just be d-tilted through, or fall to their death. The f-tilt could be used just as well as the jab in this situation though.
