I really start to notice that playing vs greninja feels way more challenging then other matchups
and mostly because of his projectile that he keeps spamming untill i approach and then counters me
with a smash attack or grab. And he keeps playing like this and i hope someone knows how to counter/win this matchup.

Questions i would like to be answered:
What options does Ness have against greninja and how does he Approach?
How to make greninja approach you? (if possible)
What is the best thing to do when fighting greninja offstage?
How to punish greninja for spamming his water shuriken? (neutral B)

Greninja has an advantage because of his projectiles and pure speed. Also Greninja excels when his opponent is above him. As Ness you never want to be above your opponent because Ness' Dair is not that good.
A good way to approaching Greninja is by using Fair and then retreating back in the air. You don't always have to commit to a move. Also only use PK fire if you know its gonna hit. Greninjas speed makes him a natural punisher. When fighting offstage I suggest that you let him try to attack first. He'll most likely do his fair or bair. Which has some end lag so you should be able to punish after Greninja does his move.
You can punish Greninjas neutral B by heading back with the bat in some circumstances. That's all i got, hope it was helpful.

Greninja is big, so shield grabbing his attacks can be easier than many of the other fast attackers like Sonic and Diddy.
Hug center stage as much as you can, and just try to build damage on him over time, rather than rushing for the KO, if the usual all-out offense isn't working.
Getting downthrow combos in on him can add up over time. Fast fall as much as you can.

I think Greninja has somewhat of an advantage over Ness because of his projectile and speed, as this has already been established. A fully charge Water Shuriken can be f-smashed back at Greninja, potentially KOing him if it connects. The weaker versions of his neutral B are easily trumped by Ness' nair. Shadow Sneak is both predictable and not so predictable, depending on the stages you're facing him. I say this because earlier I fought a Greninja and he used his side B and I didn't see it coming, whereas on other stages, I was able to see it. It's something to really be aware of. To me, it sounds like you're approaching by air and getting shield grabbed. That's where you'll have to really go with a different approach, though it's kind of hard to do. You could jump behind him and go for a grab yourself. It was suggested that you could do retreating fairs, but retreating nairs and bairs are also useful.

When Greninja is off stage, just go for PKT. It can be dangerous for you to go out and try to attack him as he can up B and return to the stage, putting you in possibly a bad position. Also, when attacking with PKT, don't stay too close to the edge, because I believe he can Shadow Sneak back on the stage.
