Some aren't. Fox's Alt costume, Wolf , has that pointed tip head, unlike Fox.

Those are all recolors. In particular, THERE IS NO WOLF COSTUME. IT IS JUST A RECOLOR OF FOX. IT IS NO MORE A WOLF COSTUME THAN MARIO'S GREEN COSTUME IS A LUIGI COSTUME.

If we do get more than recolors for alternate costumes, I think that Ness would be one of the first costume characters. Otherwise, we'll probably get an AT of him. It's possible that get gray fox and pink diddy will be replaced by actual Wolf and Dixie costumes, assuming that those two characters aren't in the game that we do end up with more than recolors.

While you do provide a valid point, you can't say that that white streak in Fox's forehead is coincediental. That's almost a carbon copy of Wolf!

You're jumping the gun on this issue, Nintendo hasn't flat out said Lucas replaces Ness. The possibility is there that with Lucas's completely different standard attacks Nintendo could be building Ness a new special attacks palette, one that actually fits the character that he is.

A true alternate costume would mean a change in the actual model of the character, possibly even a change in what the game displays and the announcer says. Yes, Peach has a 'daisy-like' color scheme, but she is still Peach.

We haven't seen alts yet... but there's no reason to think that they can't exist... we've only seen the demo.

Uhm, sorry to say but in Melee, the "Daisy" Costume was indeed different. Peach's Necklace was replaced with Daisy's. Looks more like recoloring to me.

Wolf has a pointier head and ears, eyepiece is different and is on the other eye, more pointed eyes, different headgear, and completely different clothes to name a few.
