NES series rehaul/remake discussion

We all know that smash has enough power and influence to bring series and overseas and revive forgotten classics. I want to hear what other people think of the idea. Ice Climber would be the most interesting series to revive in my opinion.


They should be Nintendo owned.

I want to see the Famicom Detective Club series come back. I've never played either of them, but from what I've read they're a series of mystery adventure games with a slight learning towards horror. Sounds like my cup of tea, but they were never released outside of Japan. And given how gritty they are and how they would directly compete with Professor Layton I doubt that we will ever see the series come back, especially outside of Japan.

One esoteric title to bring back is "Crystalis". A game by SNK, it was an amazing RPG that inspired gameplay seen in "Secret of Mana", "Teranigma", etc.. Then Nintendo bought the rights and made a rather poor "port" to the GameBoy Color. Despite butchering the GBC version of the game, the fact remains that Nintendo owns the rights to the cult classic, and if they feel their titles are feeling too stale, they can always try and revive this relic.

I really mean dead series that Nintendo never picked up, last time I checked Fire Emblem has had several games since then.

Ice Climbers on 3DS could have the same concept as Kid Icarus Uprisings land and air battles. One part of the level could be sidescroller and the other could be a Super Mario 64 ripoff, or the whole game could be a 3D platformer thing, or it could be an Ice Climbers+Balloon Fight remake bundle, or it could be a stupid 3D classics thing on the eShop, or a furry/pedophiles wetdream simulator.

I really added those there because of their gameplay. Mario Bros was not a traditional poopy sidescroller Mario game we have now like New Super Mario Bros U. Zelda 2 was a sidescroller Zelda and It would really be interesting to see Nintendo bring that back and make it better.

Have you played Wario's Woods? That is Toads game, not Warios. This is Toads only game in the history of Nintendo and has the potential to become a decent spinoff series.

I really should have added Gaiden to the list anyways, Fire Emblem has a lot of games to be released outside of Japan.

I need an HD Ice Climbers where I can use the WiiU gamepad to aim my grappling rope onto rocks. There could be a two player battle and co-op mode.

Anyone have ideas on a multiplayer mode for a new Ice Climbers.

Yes. Up until New super Mario Bros U and maybe even 2 they started get bad.
