Sheik can only go so fast...

I don't think you were fast falling all the time. And i couldn't really tell if you were L-canceling (i need to be playing for some reason to see that), but if you were then continue, If you weren't then start. Even with sheik it makes a difference.

You did too many dash attacks, which he just shielded. Dash attack is laggy. You should have done grabs instead. Which the Link was doing too often.

Yeah, grabbing Link is "cheap," but that's only he'll learn to avoid them.

You started rolling a lot also later on. Nothing wrong with rolling, but you were doing too much.

Too many foward smashes also. Still use, but sparingly.

And not really much a of a speed factor, but you never attempted to edgehog.

Hope that helped some. I suck, so hopefully someone better will give some tips too. ^_^

Use more tilts and grabs, u can pretty much 0 to death link with sheiks grabs and tilts. Learn to short hop so ur attacks arent as predictable. Learn to edge hop so u can attack faster instead of waiting for u to do the lil drill kick thing getting back to the edge

yea 2nd post is pretty much what i thought (lack of FF, too many dash/f-smash, etc)

i'd also consider dash dancing. its fairly effective in making your next moves harder to predict (for less experienced players) esp when your enemy is on a platform

when you L-cancel, don't just L-cancel and stand there, make sure you do some sort of follow-up, or at least do something with those extra frames, otherwise you might as well not L-cancel at all.

if the sheild is going up ur just holding l instead of tapping it. so practice letting go of L and doing an attack or evasion

This is what you need to do.

First of all, stop using over smash with sheik, it is a bad move with huge start up and intermittent delay. Second of all, practice on the following. Fast Falling, Short Hopping, L Canceling. Every move of every attack should have these basic skills down (despite situational instances). Also learn to do reverse needles, it is a fast way to run, turn around and get onto the edge (provided that you fast fall). Practice timing, consistency, spacing, and learn the speeds of your attacks. Once you have these things under your belt, I think you will find that the speed of your Sheik will have drastically increased.

You know the little sprinkles you had on your ice
Actually dude, it isn't all that important, it's just a nice thing to have. You can only use speed to get so far. Practice playing better people and luring them into a combo. Then when you can do that, start thinking about pressing "L" whenever you touch ground. Sooner or later, you will have L-canceling down.
