need some help with the whole online deal

so Im a lil confused about getting to play smash bros online
i own the game for the n64 but i want to get a mod so i can play the game online so i ask where should i get the mod from?
and what exactly all do i have to do with the mod when i get it...sorry im new to the whole mod and emulator thing

then after i get one how do i get online with the game?
