Good morning Smashboards! I am new to the forums and this is my first post so i figure i should make it as useful as possible.

Like every respectable person in the world i am familiar with smash and have played all of the versions of it, unfortunately up until now i was never interested in it on a serious level. My question to you experienced players is this:

what types of mechanics and tactics do i need to know about and start practicing to be successful? (ie. wavedashing, short hopping, etc.) I have played SF and MVC competitively and am familiar with tactics like 'plinking' and all that jazz, but smash is completely different and i am positive there are tactics/mechanics that i dont even notice or realize are happening. Any advice or explanation of these would be greatly helpful to me (and i am sure plenty of others that read this thread as well)

Thanks for your time and help!

Sincerely,

-Beezy

I personally think shielding and dodging are the best mechanics to master
As they are the one I can't seem to train myself to use and I keep dying because of it.
