I come to the experts in seek of assistance. My brother has discovered pit(he was bad enough as link) and now i have to perfect my game. Have got the JUB down, and the cyclone recover and the taunt edgeguard, yet cant seem to get the dair meteor spike to work

any tips or pointers that can help me pull it off consistently would be greatly appreciated:chuckle:

Its rather hard to pull off in match, but the general consensus is that you have to hit when the enemy is around luigi's butt. Practice in training mode to get a feel for where you have to hit. I personally can't pull it off in a real match so no idea how to really make it possible in match.

Well I would recommend trying to do it around Luigi's torso rather than his butt, mostly because while the butt's about where the hitbox is, your opponent should be a bit higher than you (their head above yours, unless theyre like Kirby), and if you try to get it on Luigi's butt exactly, then its going to be tough to pull off.

I havent tried it yet, but I would think that a rising d-air would work to get the placement right, but Im not sure if there is another hitbox above the one the spikes for Luigi's d-air and he is a bit floaty, so this kind of thing is a bit harder to pull off than it is with Falco for example.

i think if you're trying to perfect your game so to speak then I would forget the taunt spike and dont rely so much on the jab -> up b

The dair spike isnt easy to get down consistently and imo isn't necessary compared to mastering DI and spacing etc

Yea Sex kick works wonders, try that more often then Dair, that way, when you do use Dair, the opponent wont know what happened.

Against Pit the Dair spike isn't so useful anyway. Dair is hard to land. I suggest instead just using Dair(maybe you'll get lucky and it spikes) or Bair to knock him out away from the stage as much as you can, and then if he uses his up-B toss fireballs out at him and then hug the ledge right away. That's really the only way I've ever edgeguarded Pit for KOs.
