I play in Wii U tournaments, but when practicing, I use a 3ds because that is all I have, and I don't know anyone in my area who plays smash competitively and has a wii u. This tends to limit my practice options.

Now for most of my characters (:4zss:, :4samus:, :4bowser:, :4ness:, I can practice just fine online via For Glory, as I either don't use customs with those chars or the customs are not completely game-changing. However, for my main, :4charizard:, I cannot practice with him on For Glory, because I am unable to use the game-changing Dragon Rush on FG. This limits my practice options to offline play.

Any ideas for practicing with Charizard? I need viable solo-player options so that I can keep my skills up and prepare for tournaments. Would CPUs suffice, or do I need to find more 3DS people online, or something else?

Well what I did was I played in my free periods in school. Mostly what I did was training mode (getting a feel for the new characters I tried) and some fighting level 9's to sharpen up on reflexes if they were ever dull.

I also am the president of the "unofficial" smash club at my school, so I play every day with smashers at lunch.

Practice without Dragon Rush, it's harder but will make your Charizard better overall if you have a good command of all of your moves. Against people who are used to it Dragon Rush doesn't solve all of Zard's weaknesses so you need to know other ways to open up opponents.

I can use all my other moves just fine; it's just that my playstyle kinda requires Dragon Rush. For example, I make edgeguarding tough by dragonrushing back onstage and hitting my opponent at the same time as opposed to simply grabbing some ledge. Also, a couple of my combos require Dragon Rush.
