Need help with Homebrew; game launches but is glitched and freezes.

Hello everyone!

Like many of you, I recently picked this up again. I previously ran Ver 2.6b using CFG (Configurable USB Loader) with no problems. I used a 2GB micro SD card and adapter.

Now I've wiped the SD and started fresh with the exact contents of the Homebrew download from the main website. I boot Brawl (from my external HDD) via Configurable USB Loader (using Ocarina to load the cheats); the Project M splash page loads up properly, as well as the introduction and "Press Start" menu.

Here is where things start to get weird...

I notice that the main menu, and its sub-menus, are not that of Project M but of the original game. Also, if I try to go back to the "Start" menu, it will revert to the original Brawl version of the screen. When I load a group battle, the character selection screen appears with all the Project M 3.0 additions (including Roy, Mewtwo) as well as the graphical changes with the costume colors on the character UI. Stage selection resembles that of Project M, also. When a stage is loaded (sometimes it won't even load) the characters will drop down and then as soon as the fight is supposed to begin, the game hangs and howls a loud buzzing noise.

If anyone knows how this may be remedied, please lend me any knowledge that could be helpful. Even if you know someone having similar issues. I would like to reinforce that I am using a 2GB micro SD and not an SDHC card.

Thanks guys!

Welp, I'm assuming you have the full set homebrew version then. A user around here also uses USB config loader, and he has no problems. I guess you can contact him and he might help you out. Other than that, I've never tried hacking with anything but a normal 2 gig SD card. It might have something to do with it being a micro SD but seeing that you've successfully launched the game before, anything with the files might be messed up.

Talk to the guy in the opening post, he might know. Post a screen shot of the directory of your micro SD card and maybe we can see what might be misplaced.

I'm very surprised at the haste and quality of your response. Thanks very much, will do! The contents of my SD card only include what is provided in the download on the main website, so I can't imagine it would be that. The demo may have worked, but perhaps however this new version is working is why it won't work now.

have you solved this, yet?.. if not, is the format of the sd card FAT32?.. if not then try reformatting to that...

Unfortunately, I have not solved this problem yet ):

The SD card is formatted correctly. I had the previous version of Project M running off the same card before I tried version 3.0

Maybe you should try a different loader, like Neogamma or USB Loader GX 3.0.

does brawl still read the card properly?.. there's a possibility the card has gone bad... your problem sounds like what happemns if the wii isn't reading the card properly or if it just can't load the files somehow...
my previous main sd card just died one day... brawl still reads it and i can save stuff to it but it won't load hacked files from it properly...
