All I have heard about Snake was that he sucked, so I decided to give him a try. At first I thought he did suck, but after playing with in for a while, I'm starting to get a feel on his playing style. I've figured out that Snake isn't a character like Ike or Pit, who you can just pick up and play. Snake is a character that takes time and patiens to master.

Anyways, I am having problems with placing C4 and mines. It seems like it is impossible to hit somebody with it. Everytime I plant one, they stay away from it and only go over it if I'm doing another move with some lag.

Does anybody have any advice for me.

Also are grenades usefull in 1v1 matches? They work wonders in Free for Alls, but in 1v1's I can't seem to find them very affective. I know how to do some trick with the nades though. I know how to do to "Grenade Stall."

Also if anybody has some tips on what your stategy is with Snake, please tell me.

Anways, I will appriciate any help I can get.

Really the only thing I can say is for the C4 plant it at areas where you know they will want to go, eg. next to an edge. The Dsmash is really hard to get off normally, but I think that it is mostly used to control the field and to put your opponent where you want him. Grenades are extremely used in 1v1s, shield drop them and spam them to completely control the field.

C4 is all about stage control. Occasionally you can drop it from the cypher and detonate it immediately or SH backwards, drop C4, SH backwards again and detonate if you're being chased. For the most part though, use C4 to keep your opponent where you want them: between you and the edge and close to your body.

Oh btw, you can also stick C4 to your opponent if you are close enough. This works even if they are shielded, and if you stick it to them followed immediately by an up tilt, you can kill a Bowser at around 50% damage. Sticking C4 out of a powershield works wonders, as well as directly after someone performs a move hit heavy cooldown lag (like Gannon's Wizard Kick)

And I almost forgot, you can drop it on your cypher if you can't make it back to the edge and immediately detonate it to blow yourself up and give you back your third jump. Just make sure you don't do this with too much damage or you will kill yourself (not that it really matters if you were going to die anyway but w/e)

I usually place my mines a few steps away from the edge on Final D, which usually prevents effective edge guarding.

I noticed a lot of people saying they usually C4-stick out of a power-shield, but i find it hard to do fluently. I'm assuming you can set C4 to the C-stick(one of the directions). Is that true?
