I was just wondering the exact sweet-spot for the ICs f-air, whether it's underneath them at the end of the attack (when the hammer is facing south), half way when the hammer is pointing to the side or something else. I keep attempting meteor smashes and they end up hitting the enemy upwards =S. Help greatly appreciated.
Psy.

hmm i never actually considered the sweetspot of the fair but I assume its at the end of the attack animation and they have to be under it

Yeah, It only makes sense that the enemy would have to be right below the hammer when it comes swinging down on them.

Yeah when i grab people on the edge and I'm facing towards to middle of the stage, i like to d-throw to fair, and if they DI towards the ledge they usually get spiked. So I'm guessing, but i can't say for sure that the sweet spot would be at the beginning of the end animation.

This isn't even close to the top 100 noobs threads of all time. This is a legit question, and if anyone has actual frame data, i would appreciate it.

hmm well the hitbox seems to only be out for 3 frames so possibly the whole attack can meteor spike. it might just depend on if the opponent is under the hammer or not.

Ok so ive just finished screwing around with it. They have to be directly under the hammer for it to work i assume. If they are too far they go upwards, and if they are too close they go behind you. Timing didnt seem to affect me.

edit: also it seems if they are directly above you they are meteor spiked

This is something I've been doing since I started playing wit my Lil ****** pals. The spike only happens when an enemy is under your hammer. It deff doesnt need to be much but as long as you can keep yourself higher than the opponent (and that is the body of the ice climber not the hammer) you can spike em.

Such a great tactic cuz no-one ever exoects the IC's to spike em
