All we're missing now in a Super Smash Bros. game is Master Chief. Smash Bros. Riot anyone?
Alright my thoughts on this:
First of all, i believe that they CANNOT guarantee that it will be released December 3rd. That's why we DO NOT have a release date, compared to the japanese who DO have one! The release date for the north americans is TO BE ANNOUNCED. You can't say that it's in 2008 because you might be wrong, for goodness' sake, just shut up about it. Really only Time, and Sakurai can tell what time North americans will get their release, until then, do not say such stupid crap.

A how to guide on how to get sakurai to give us brawl on dec 3rd:

I'm saying that they're probably adding a new character, like, last-minute
I don't see why people think we will get brawl before the Japanese. You guys do know the game is being developed there, right?? And you are trying to tell me that they will get it almost a whole month later than us??? If anything, it will be the other way around or we will also get it around that time.

And the site probably didn't notice the change in the release date on the dojo like all of the raving smash fans here did.

We got the Wii before Japan, we got Metroid before Japan, we get a **** ton of stuff before Japan.
And I would be VERY surprised if Brawl, Nintendo's best-selling franchise and sequel to the TOP-SELLING game on Gamecube, didn't make it out for the Christmas season.

You can guarantee that any website that isn't smashbros.com is LESS accurate in the affairs of Smash Bros. than smashbros.com is. The release is up in air... we'll probably know the full story next week at E For All.

This is just a guess, but maybe a new third party jumped on and the company is based in America so it won't affect the America time but due to translations, it will affect Japanese release date.
(I think the third parties are helping to create characters and levels.)

Ok i see it like this two high selling games will be released soon and releasing both games in the same time period may cause a lack of sales.

I agree with the Wii, but Metroid Prime is made in US and Primes games doesn't work that well in Japan.
Christmas season is bigger here than Japan, this time of the year prints money for Nintendo, it will be stupid to sell it in January. Guess what, Mario Kart Wii was supposed to be release early in 2008, but now it's about spring time.
Now that makes at least some sense...i'm still going not getting my hopes up at all. The closest date i am expecting brawl out is at the exact time the Japanese are getting it.

One thing to take into account is game of the year, which occors more in NA than any where else, due to the high number of US video game magazines, so if they hurry SSBB to before 2008 they could get the game of the year, to help advertize Brawl.

i highly DOUBT american release will be 08. Did you see look of excitement on Fils-Aime's face when he announced Dec 3rd? Basically, what im saying is that Pushing this game back after having a CONFIRMED release date will die down a lot of hype.
But who knows? Its not a coincidence that the release date got changed the same day Sonic got confirmed. Maybe their announcing Sonic this early as a cover up for pushing the game back?
