[My blogs section was empty, and I consider myself a good writer, so what better to do than to write about my journey through smash?]

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

I was first introduced to the smash world shortly after i got a nintendo 64 (around age 5 or 6) on christmas, and from that day I fell in love. I started off maining Link and Captain falcon shortly after when I unlocked him. It's funny, looking back on it I thought smashes were the only viable moves in the game XD. I would play my dad and win every once in awhile, but now its clear to see that he wasnt trying :D. Even after the first few months, I would do classic all the way up to the master hand; for some reason i was scared s***less and i'd throw the controller down, making my parents do it. The next year i started bringing the game over to my buddies house that were significantly older than me (about 2 or 3 years) and, suprisingly, would beat them consistantly. That and other shenanigans went on for what seemed like forever...

I'M THE KING!
[2-3 years later]
After a divorce and moving, I met a lot of new people and saved up my pennies and dollars with allowance and money matches playing yu-gi-oh, and got a gamecube! Melee arrived shortly after, and I just hadd to get it! ...Luckily my mom was able to buy it for me because she knew i had a love for the game. I played it just as much as the 64 and got ok at it ( i realized there was an arial game besides recovering). I moved again, and met the twins matt and alex. Little did I know they would be fellow sportsman, smashers, and my best friends (you may know them as triforce hero and little pink cannibal). I stood out in the group again, now playing as marth. I developed my edgeguarding skills and consistantly beat alex's link, matt's kirby, and ryan's yoshi. I was the King!! :D We each got wiis respectively and regularly discussed what was to come with super smash bros 3, I predicted lucario would be in the game and I was right, despite their doubt. After what seemed like an eternity of checking up on super smash bros dojo's updates, brawl finally came out!!

THE CLIMB
[13 yrs old]
I was at my dads house for the weekend and it was launch day (or.. night) for brawl to come out. I thought it was hopeless, but my dad finally reconsidered and took me out to zona rosa at around 11:30. I could barely contain myself! I was probably the 10th person in the Kansas City area to have my hands on brawl and the guidebook. (lol @ half the info in the book being false!!) Upon arriving home, I instantly chose Ike and went in to practice mode and he was just an instant "click"; I stayed up till atleast four o clock that night. The following morning i finished Subspace emissary in a matter of 2 days. Marth clicked as well, but he didnt have that melee "charm" that I really liked. Soon after, I came across smashboards! Everything around me seemed so grand, so I spent a year lurking before i started posting seriously. I still had the "im a king!!" attitude and smugly entered the new new members fight arena. I beat down everyone in my path with ease! ...But then I suffered my first great defeat at the hands of Straked. He taught me that this game takes strategy and defensive maneuvers, its not just the simple "beat 'em up" that i made it out to be. So I trained and trained.. meeting some cool people like High5 (my clan future clan leader), boomy, and Urfat...sorry if I missed anybody. Ive recently had my high points and slumps (mostly slumps
), and my Ike has been humbled once again by gamingblack and Pentasalia, a recent friend of mine in smashboards. Im starting to make melfice z a known name if I do say so myself! ...well thats all for now! Ill be sure to write more soon!

Freakin' grammar whores. STFU.

You sound like the big smash fan I was when I was a kid. Most of my time was spent having fun matches with computers though since everybody I knew played the xbox or whatever (except on 64). I have to say Melee gave me the most memories though. When I first saw the opening, I knew it was going to be the best game on the gamecube, which suprisingly is my favorite Nintendo console :D -- so the best smash (IMO) is also on my favorite console. Pichu was the IN for me. Like, my favorite character-- and Big Blue being my favorite stage.

I started learning about rolling until Melee also, and never knew about the aerial game until I came here to smashboards. I like Brawl still, but I don't plan to claim myself to be the king at it anytime soon. I just play it chill and relax now a days.

Sounds sort of like my story. Not much of one really, just played all the installments until Brawl, thought I was good, then got a royal beat down from Arch Knight.
