I finally got up all of what I have recorded so far. I'm not GREAT at this game still, I'm pretty okay but, nothing like Isai or anyone else. Mostly the reason why I'm posting these is so I can get some suggestions on what I need to do since I barely know anything that anyone does in SSB64 besides what I already do. Anyway, enjoy I guess.

SMK VS. ANTZ! Part 1
SMK VS. ANTZ! Part 2
SMK VS. ANTZ! Part 3 (lol I suck with Falcon)

SMK VS. BEN Part 1
SMK VS. BEN Part 2
SMK VS. BEN Part 3
SMK VS. BEN Part 4
SMK VS. BEN Part 5
SMK VS. BEN Part 6
SMK VS. BEN Part 7
SMK VS. BEN Part 8

You don't have to watch ALL of them if you don't want to. Keep in mind, all these matches weren't played on an Emulator, in fact, they were played on my Wii (homebrew channel FTW). Anywho, yeah, if you were curious I main Link and my secondary is Pikachu with my third being Mario (and after that is Fox). So, I mostly choose these other characters because I don't like playing the same three over and over again (otherwise it becomes stale for me) so... yah.

Any suggestions on what I need to improve on?

hmm i only watched the fox vs samus one but i can tell you some things

1) Always cancel
2) apply proper pressure, learn the best way your char can make your foe unable to combo
3) Approach with proper attacks, for fox, drills and Fairs are a good way to go, ~!always!~ use laser spam

nice characters, as Surri said, always cancel your moves and try and predict your opponent more

for your link, less bombs, more short hop neutral air and back air, and use boomerang or bombs to force your opponent to get close or use boomerangs if you think they will tech the other way.

1) I do that now for the most part, often times I may accidentally do an aerial attack from a certain area and not realize that it'll still have lag even from that certain height or when I attack towards a platform and land on the platform (example: Yoshi's Island) the move lags and I forget to cancel it. But, for the most part, I've been keeping this steady now.

2) Such as keep on attacking them before they attack me? Even if they're shielding? An example would be sweet. Unless, you mean predicting which, I agree I could use more of.

3) I drill a lot more now (refer to SMK VS. BEN Part 5 or 4, it's Fox VS. Kirby) but, I never thought the Fair was actually a good move to use. I'll try it next time I play someone. As for laser spam, do you mean just generally sitting there and shooting or short hopping it?

Thanks for the tips thougj, much appreciated, you might want to watch a few more though if you can.

Thanks for the tip there, for some reason though when I jump into the air and throw the Boomerang (forward and B to make it go farther) I DI on accident towards my enemy when I actually don't want to. This is mostly with the GCN Controller but, when I used to play it on the N64 I didn't have this trouble before, any idea why? It's partly the reason why I was using bombs more than my boomerang.

Anyone else? Or is this all I'm going to get? :(

Fairs are fast and easy to follow up with another aerial or ground set-up (Dtilt probably your best idea)

as for pressure, it can be anything depending on char...things like relentless projectiles (Marios fireballs , fox's lasers...etc) empty Short hops, dash dancing or quick Aerials.

Fox's fair is great for pushing your enemy along, but it also has pretty decent priority against other attacks. Very useful.
For laser spam, you want to be short hopping it so you can get more lasers off faster, and so you don't have terrible lag on the ground waiting for fox to put his gun away while your enemy is coming at you.

It takes practice, but it's possible to fit 2 lasers into one Fox shorthop. Doing this is called SHDL or Short Hop Double Laser. The key to getting it is not mashing the laser super-fast, rather, it's how quickly you start lasering as soon as you jump. The time between C button and B button pressing is the defining factor, in my experience anyway.

The SHDL is an excellent tool because it has the advantages of the short hop + laser as outlined above, but it also covers more range, especially the area lower to the ground where a single short hop laser might not hit. Then you can spam like an ******* because make no mistake, your opponents will hate you for it

Bairs are probably better if you can approach going backward, Bair lasts longer and has a better hitbox.
Drills aren't that great of an approach move because their hitboxes are generally below the character and get outspaced by Bairs and Fairs.
Surri's version of pressure apparently stands for super deluxe mindgames. He's just telling you to play aggressively, but smart. Pressuring shields on the other hand requires moves that result in a lot of hitstun followed by grabs, pivot jabs, or in some cases, a series of attacks leading to a shield break (i.e., Ness's DJC). In most cases, hitting a shield with a Zcanceled move amounts to a free grab.

Also if you know your opponent is prone to rolling after being hit in their shield, and you are a character whose grab won't be quick enough (Link&Samus) to get a shielded opponent, a downsmash after hitting their shield with a Z-cancelled aerial will often catch them off guard. Also chasing the direction of their roll to punish it is nice!

Bairs are also harder to combo out of then Fairs are...imo anyways

i like leading from Fair (maybe more then one depending on situation) then Dtilt (thats hard to do with Bair, and again maybe more then once depending on situation) followed by a drill...then you can combo as you wish ...the stage will tell you what combos to go for

Bairs can chain on floaties, otherwise I've found that they're basically the same attack combowise except you're facing a different way.
