Megaman.
Why? It sold, sequel after sequel, from platform to platform, Megaman has lasted. He has a TON of characteristics which would put him in place for being a candidate for SSBB; size and style of character, original fighting platform resembled super smash bros(final guys in the stage were fought on a 2d playing field where the character had freedom to move, jump, and dodge boss), character had villains (which means hes not a lone character addition!), character aquired special moves from boss's, etc etc.
I imagine Megaman, in a nutshell to be about the size and shape of mario. Megamans jumps and jump speed will be just a slower than links, and about the same height. His triple jump, however, will be much like game and watches, and add greatly to his vertical gain. Megamans ground game will resemble the italians, while his arial resembling a tweeked link. Megamans biggest edge will be his distance attacks, and his short/yet fairly quick SH game and relatively easy WD. His weight will be similar to marios.

Neut A + A = Jab Jab
Neut A + A + A = Jab Jab Hook
Down Tilt = Knee
Forward Tilt = Hook
Up Tilt = Chin Kick
Nair = Sexkick
Dair = Knee Spike
Fair = forward kick
Uair = like samus
Bair = backhand
Down Smash = Unsure
Forward smash = Forward beam short
Up Smash = Leafs Surround him
B = Charge up very similar to samus'
Up + B = Robot dog thing shoots him up like Game and Watch. luck his like that of luigi.
Down + B= change stolen boss moves. megamans color/costume changes and his B now changes with it for its projectile.
Forward + B = Slide attack
Taunt - Pulls out energy canister! slowly revives health while held down, at the cost of a LOT of lag for the ending animation.
Super Smash = Random final boss from previous game appears in as part of this big move. the final boss isnt the one DOING the move, though just superimposed within the move, to show its origin.
Possible changes? Add a Steal a move possiblity. kicks and phisical attacks.
