Im in dire need of help for my falco. I always get owned by my friends marth. Hes a really good player(in my eyes) but yeah i cant seem to beat his marth. I try to spam lasers as much as possible and im trying to implement Reverse SHL in my game. My spacing, teching , approach and mind games need a lot of help actually i need help on everything.

some things i noticed:

1. too much rolling. its fine to roll, but too much, and it becomes predictable. WDing imo is much better for spacing.
2. barely any shine combos. Falco can combo Marth pretty well. any time you tried comboing, it kinda failed. maybe use shine>dair>utilt to whatever (varies with w/e)
3. more mindgames. i didn't really see any. Your opponent pretty much walked over you with his, and you fell into them a lot.
4. work/more on SHLing. pressure your opponent with those lasers.

just keep practicing :)

What KrnMint_00v said. Also, don't just SHL to get damage in or keep the opponent away, use it to approach. For example, SHL>grab and SHL>d-smash work pretty well. For shine combos, JC shine>bair is t3h pwnz. Also, I saw you throw out (and miss) nairs a few times when a bair would've done the trick. The Bair is your friend!

Mmm yeah i really do roll way too much. Im practicing more movement with my SHL. Thanks a lot for the tips. I failed alot with the combos . Im pretty bad at following up my shines. Other than JC Shine > bair , is there other good shine combos i can use. I just used JC Shine to bair and i love it but that was on a computer. Anyways thanks a lot =p

Thanks for the support btw

Step 1:

Stop spamming lasers

Just play him 3-4 games in a row, shooting no lasers

I'm sure you'll find that you do much better.

Step 2 is stop messing up. L-cancels baby.

lasers can be pretty important. they can pressure other players soooo much. i think technomancer is saying not to be spam lasers that aren't doing anything. don't rely so much that it leaves you open for an attack.

in addition to what everyone else said, try to work on recovery. from what i saw (only watched two videos, one through the random appearances of a strange and annoying stuffed whale) you usually aim for getting back on the stage as opposed to the ledge, which isnt always bad but is not the best option in some of those situations. but above all else, when you do get the ledge, it seemed you usually did his jump recovery (not ledgehop), which leaves falco with an entire jump that he cant do anything during (except at the very end if theres no ff). so i would say try to sweetspot the ledge more, and get down firebird stalling and some ledgehop recoveries (double laser, dair, fair, etc). that aside, other people here gave some good advice and you seem really open to these opinions, so keep praciticing man, youll be owning your friend in no time.

I only watched the first vid, I may come back and edit after watching more. First off, Firebird, stop trying to kill with it, its never going to happen, just stop it. Second, Dthrow -> Dsmash, it more than likely wont work as its not very difficult to tech the Dthrow. Third, roll less, WD or retreating SHRB work well. 4th, Shine combos, they work well, you should try them. 5th, L-canceling, you need to practice it. Other than that just practice your lasers a little more and you should be on your way to having a good falco. Oh yeah, and try and sweetspot the edge a little more.
